Tunis Shriners Ceremonial took place at Brockville ON. August 10-11-12, 2018, hosted by the Brockville & Dist. Shrine Club. This was a remarkable event seeing Nobles, Ladies and friends from eastern Canada, New England U.S.A. and as far as Florida in attendance.
The event kicked off with a Meet & Greet Friday evening at the Brockville Country Club with the Hillbilly Moonlighter Clan 149 providing lots of fun, activities, food and dancing (Hillbilly. Hoedown) Saturday was a full day preparing the nine candidates for initiation and ceremony, three of which are from Brockville, while serving a barbeque lunch which was held at the Super 8 Motel. There was an activity choice of golf or the shooting range.
The ladies program was well enjoyed and drew great reviews their luncheon was prepared and served by the Order of the Eastern Star at the Masonic Temple.
The luncheon’s guest speaker Miss Isabella Rose our International Patient Ambassador delivered a riveting presentation.
A memorable Saturday evening banquet was held in the Aquatarium at the Tall Ships Landing. A superb meal was served and enjoyed by all. The apex of the evening was a 15 year old young lady Isabella Rose from Florida U.S.A. who shared her inspirational medical story and Shriners Hospitals. Isabella is an International Patient Ambassador for the ‘Shrine Hospital for Children’
system, a true motivating speaker.
During the announcements and donations Illus. Sir Gary Tristram Potentate Tunis Shriners received many contributions from clubs and units.
This class of candidates was named after Noble John Bowen Jr’s father, the late Noble John Bowen Sr. For the occasion and on behalf of B.D.S.C. and the Club’s Coffee Club Nobles John Bowen Jr. presented $3000.00 and Joe Maggio
$1000.00 cheques to Illus. Sir Gary Tristram.
