The Brockville and District Shrine Club (Tunis) recently invited Dr. René St-Arnaud the Director of the Research at Shriners Hospitals for Children-Canada in Montreal to speak at its May 24th General Meeting. This informative and entertaining presentation afforded the audience broad insight into the “cutting edge” caliber of research currently taking place at the Research Centre of SHC-Canada.
Dr. St-Arnaud an internationally respected award winning scientist with over 130 peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals to his credit as well as the author of 40 book chapters spoke about his research team and the significant progress which they have been making to further understand the complexities of bone cell differentiation and function in regards the treatment of fractures and metabolic bone diseases.
This presentation was very well received and judging from the audience participation & interaction, future presentations promoting the research endeavours taking place at the SHC-Canada are in the planning stages.
