New Montreal Hospital

In planning the new hospital we are ensuring that it will be a true Shriners Hospital and will correspond to our vision, positioning and the needs of our future patients.  We are planning for the following:

  • Moving into more than 158 000 square feet (currently just over 89 000)
  • 22 single patient rooms
  • 4 operating rooms (currently 2)
  • 25,000 square feet dedicated to research (currently 14,475)
  • 18,000 square feet for Ambulatory Care (currently 5851)
  • 18,000 square feet for rehabilitation services (currently 3474) in order to meet the needs of future generations of patients.

Children up to the age of 18 with orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate are eligible for admission and receive all care in a family-centered environment at no charge, at no financial obligation to patients for their families.
